Answers to the most frequently asked questions about Steelies Ultimate.
Drywall screws are available with two thread types: coarse thread and fine thread. Coarse thread has larger distance between pitches and is intended for mounting on wooden structures. Fine thread has smaller distance between pitches and is specifically developed for metal studs (thin-walled steel profiles). The fine thread cuts accurately through the steel without deforming the studs. Always use the correct type: coarse thread in wood, fine thread in metal studs.
Are you working with thicker metal stud profiles of 0.9 mm or more? Choose a drywall screw with a drill point. The drill point cuts effortlessly through the stud.
